As we come to the end of Module 7, let’s pause and take a breath. This module turned the camera around, focusing not on your child’s social skills, but on your own. We explored a simple but profound truth: you are the living blueprint for your child’s relationships.
We saw that your friendships, your struggles with loneliness, your small acts of connection, and the boundaries you set (or don’t set) are not just your private life. They are the daily lessons your child observes about what it means to be a friend, how to respect others, and how to respect yourself.
If this module brought up feelings of guilt or pressure, let that go. This was never about being a “perfect” social model. It was about becoming an aware one.
You don’t need to teach your child how to be a good friend in the same way you teach them to tie their shoes. You need to show them, by investing in your own connections and honoring your own needs. When you make time for a friend, you model connection. When you say a kind, clear “no,” you model self-respect.
These are the tools they will take to the playground, to school, and into their future. By nurturing your own social and emotional world, you are giving your child the greatest gift: a healthy, honest, and resilient example to follow.
Thank you for doing this important work. We’ll see you in the next module!
